Office Assistant

Louisville, KY

Midwestern Insurance Alliance is seeking a full-time Office Assistant to join its claims Processing team at its headquarters in Louisville, KY.

Midwestern Insurance Alliance is a managing general agent offering custom-tailored workers’ compensation insurance programs through its carrier partners.

The Office Assistant will perform a wide range of administrative and office support functions for Midwestern Insurance Alliance claims department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Time management skills for efficiency
  • Team support
  • Clerical duties including letter writing, indexing documents, communication with vendors/partners, printing & organizing medical records for claim professionals. and recovery specialist as requested.

Ideally, the Office Assistant will have:

High school diploma. Some post-high school education is preferred but not required

  • At least 2 years of office work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

    Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster

    Louisville, KY

    Midwestern Insurance Alliance (MIA) is seeking a full-time Claims Adjuster to join its workers’ compensation claims processing team at its headquarters in Louisville, KY. 

    Claims Adjuster responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Thoroughly investigating workers’ compensation claims by contacting injured workers, medical providers, and employer representatives.
    • Determining if claims are valid under applicable workers’ comp statutes.
    • Communicating with medical providers to develop and authorize appropriate treatment plans.
    • Reviewing and analyzing medical bills to confirm charges and treatment are workers’ comp injury-related and in accordance with the treatment plan.
    • Ensuring payments for medical bills and income replacement are remitted on a timely basis in accordance with applicable fee schedules and statutes.
    • Assisting in estimating appropriate reserves for each claim.
    • Providing information as needed for litigation or settlement negotiations.

    The ideal Claims Adjuster will have: 

    • Some post-high school education.
    • At least 2 years’ workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to details.
    • Ability to work with little supervision.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
